- TASTING NOTE: This is a variety that is generally made big, bold and alcoholic. Yet this marvellous wine is anything but. It is more medium weight with an elegance you just donāt normally see. Once again a combination of oak and ceramic eggs have been used. It works so well, preserving and displaying the wild fruit aromatics on the nose and creating a defined and refined palate. ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The original Myattsfield was the family farm in Camberwell, London. More than 175years later, as descendants of Joseph, we are farming in the Bickley Valley, (sub-regionĀ of Perth Hills) Western Australia. The Darling Scarp protects the Valley from maritimeĀ influences making the climate more continental than Mediterranean in nature. ThisĀ corresponds to cold nights and warm days. Valley walls reduce direct daylight hoursĀ resulting in the daily maxima arriving later in the day and for a shorter period. At 300-350m above sea level, the Bickley Valley is 2-3 degrees cooler than Perth. Ā
